The Art Room was launched in 2010 by Founder, Neena Ali, a mother of two, who wanted to create the perfect environment for adults and children to let their creativity flourish, without having to worry about making a mess or signing up for expensive packages
The Art Room is an independent arts and craft’s studio based at One Commonwealth, Singapore. We offer our students the opportunity to create and explore art and design in a relaxed environment. We inspire them with art and handmade craft ideas from around the world.
Our studio is a happy, buzzing place where everyone is welcome to come and out try new things, learn new skills, and leave feeling inspired to go on creating at home. Our extensive range of workshops on offer means that there really is something for everyone.
The Art Room brings inspirational and fresh new ideas to Singapore, whilst encouraging the local community to embrace arts and crafts. We are passionate about everything handmade and we truly believe everyone has it in them to be creative. We recycle almost everything we can lay our hands on. Be it plastic bottles, boxes, coffee cups and bottle tops to create giant paper mache sculptures and 3D works of art. If you have any junk you'd like to get rid of, bring it along to our studio!
All of our teachers are practising artists who will guide and motivate you to appreciate and enjoy Art!
“The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.”

During this time Neena worked for the fashion houses Gucci and Giorgio Armani. She later went on to work in the Retail, banking and finance sectors - Deloittes, RBS and Marks and Spencers.
